Review: "Diary of our Days" by M.A.D.I.S.O.N

"Every track brings its own piece of musical magic to the album"

by Martyn Cummings, Writer & Editor

I've been waiting for this one for some time, since hearing M.A.D.I.S.O.N. only a few months ago, the guys have hidden themselves away in their studio working on the brilliant "diary of our Days".

I've been amazed in recent months by how the young bands that are finding their way onto the public stage, are producing such outstanding albums. M.A.D.I.S.O.N. are no exception. Diary of our Days is, in my opinion, an album of Rock/Pop classics. The Bon Joviesque vocals are complimented by flawless technical guitar and drum backing, and the vocal harmonies are as smooth as silk. The technical abilty of of this band are second to none and the production of the album, for me, has put a lot of big selling bands in the shade. Who needs a multimillion dollar soundstage and studio when a traditional four piece band like M.A.D.I.S.O.N. can produce this sort of "art" in a small studio in Shropshire?

Every track brings its own piece of musical magic to the album and ranges from heavy rock intros as in the rock brilliance that is "Gimme some more" to the slow and more ballad type of offering as in "My Little Town".

The influences are apparent throughout the album and its quite a mixbag. Bon jovi, of course play a big part in the song writing and theres sporadic Queen style vocal Harmony. I think I might be right to assume some Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 has gone into some of Daniel James' vocal. The ballad of the album "My Little Town" Is an absolute earpleaser, although, to be honest I would have liked to have heard Daniels vocal tested with a more powerful ballad. I'm sure M.A.D.I.S.O.N. still have a lot to offer, so that pleasure I can wait for. I will definately be keeping a close eye on this band.

If you'd like to meet the band, They are doing an official album launch gig on March 3rd at Cordingly Hall, Donnington, Telford. I suggest you see them now as once the album hits the scene I think it might establish them as a force to be reckoned with and they will become very sought after. I wish M.A.D.I.S.O.N. all the very best for their future ventures. They have the look, they have the sound now it's time for the success!
