"An exciting and somewhat modern alternate-rock band to watch"
by Daniel Mitchell, Writer & Editor
Although I am not familiar with the band, I was slightly put-off in my first impression of this band (before actually listening to the CD) due to the description that I received with the disk written by the band calling themselves an 80's inspired rock band. This description undersells Dirty Vibes entirely as on the first listen the band clearly demonstrate solid song structuring and riff-writing. A lot of blues-rock influence combined with elements of country-rock, folk and hard-rock/metal in some of the dirtier guitar tones and borderline-technical solos. The powerful voice of the female singer, the overall production quality and attention to tone of instruments and the strength of the rhythm section prove that there is no weak member in the band.Dirty Vibes' Black Habit is a versatile nostalgia filled album which manages to sound original in its seamless combination of genres and overall quality of the release. With only a couple of small weaker moments, Black Habit is a fresh sounding surprising release that manages to combine mature song writing skills and heavy guitar tone with an accessibility and versatility that make Dirty Vibes an exciting and somewhat modern alternate-rock band to watch.
