The TV show The Voice which has been successful in the US is coming to the UK and has Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue signed to be on the coaching panel. They join Jessie J and Will.i.am who were also recently announced as coaches. O'Donoghue, the lead singer for the Script is a "massive fan" of the show. 31 year old O'Donoghue said "I'm a massive fan of The Voice, so to be involved as a coach is amazing. This is a show unlike any other because it puts vocal ability first above all else.I'm excited about The Voice and thrilled to be participating as a coach. This is a strong show, it's all about talent - but it's also exciting, competitive and compelling television."The Voice will be presented by Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby, who has previously co-presented ITV show This Morning and Channel Fours Celebrity Juice, and will air on BBC One next spring. BBC One contoller Danny Cohen is said to be "delighted" with the line-up for the four coaches. Mr Cohen says "Our line-up of Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue gives us mega-star quality, great musical range and musicians we know our audience love."
Tom Jones began his career in 1965 with his release of It's Not Unusual and has sold more than 100 million records during his career. Tom has previously been award a Brit Award for his outstanding contribution to music and his most recent album, Praise & Blame, entered the UK album chart at number two last year.
Tom has said "I look forward to putting my team together and battling it out with the other coaches to see who wins this unique, credible competition".
"This is a strong show, it's all about talent - but it's also exciting, competitive and compelling television." Jones has also said of the show "I'm excited about The Voice and thrilled to be participating as a coach."
