The rollercoaster, which sees Lee taken upside down and spun around as he plays his guitar solo, guarantees to have the audience captivated, giving them a real chance to see the drumming legend playing from all angles. Opening their six date tour in Birmingham, this will be the first time that the drum rollercoaster is seen in the UK.
Daredevil, Tommy Lee says "This idea came about from when I was a kid going to concerts. Whenever the drummer started his drum solo, I wondered why people would leave to go get a beer, buy a T-shirt, restroom, whatever! I wanted to show people what happens behind the drum set, so I decided to expose it all by flipping the drums vertical, upside-down making them disappear and fly over the audience's heads! Mötley Crüe brings you on a thrill ride, jump on the 360! Let's do this! By the way, it's really f*****g difficult playing while on this ride!"
The four-piece, which includes infamous drummer Tommy Lee and bassist Nikki Sixx, have sold more than 80 million albums over the world. Mötley Crüe's ninth studio album "Saints of Los Angeles" was nominated for "Best Hard Rock Performance" at the US Grammy's proving the band is still high on the rock and metal fan agenda.
They will co-headline the tour with Def Leppard, originally from Sheffield, the band can boast that they are one of the world's biggest rock bands, with a discography including hits like "When Love & Hate Collide", "Let's Get Rocked" and "Animal". They have 10 studio albums under their belt, of which "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize" reached Number 1 in the UK Album Chart, and their track "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" was one of the first metal videos to be played on MTV back the 80s.
