Stone Roses announce gigs after 17 years away

"After that we are going to take it around the world"

After years of waiting, the legendary Stone Roses are set to make a come back with 2 LIVE gigs confirmed for June 2012, but front-man Ian Brown said "After that we are going to take it around the world".

They will start by playing on Friday the 29th June and then Saturday the 30th of June in Heaton Park, in their hometown of Manchester, which has a huge 75,000 capacity.

The Stone Roses debut album has always been hailed as one of the greatest British albums of all time and for the band, this will be their first live gig in over 17 years, after they called it a day back in August 1996 when they performed a disastrous set at the Reading Festival, where fans booed the band and threw objects at the stage, Ian Brown's vocals were described as "so off key it was excruciating to have to listen".

Brown said that they want to "uplift" the mood of the nation during these hard times and the shows are certainly going to one of those "not to be missed" gigs.
They went on to say that music these-days is "corporate", "boring" and they are calling their gigs next year a "live resurrection".

The band have not yet announced who will be supporting them, but rumours are that long time friends Noel or Liam Gallagher might just show up.

This announcement comes just six months after Ian Brown reportedly made up with band member John Squire at the funeral of fellow band mate Mounfield's mother. Mounfield left the band back in the 90's to join rockers Primal Scream.

The four band members showed up at a packed press conference looking very happy and announced the news to the press, who were in high spirits, Ian Brown kicked off in true manchesterian style with a "thanks for that, nice one!", with Mani joking by saying "So we've just come here to deny that we're reforming, that's all. See Ya"

When asked "will this go on forever", Mani replied with "until the wheels fall off like last time".

Everyone at Fit4Talent is ecstatic about the news and cannot wait to see the band live.

Tickets go on Sale on Friday the 21st of October, at 9.30am, and are expected to sell out in record time.
