Apple who are most famous for the creation of the iPod, iPhone and iPad, have vowed that operations will continue as normal and they say they already have the next year and a half worth of products planned.
In a letter to the board of Directors and the Apple Community, Jobs wrote "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."
His departure is not entirely known, but it could be linked to health reasons, previously he had been suffering with pancreatic cancer for many years and in 2009 he underwent a liver transplant.
Jobs has always been known as the visionary behind Apple Computers, he also plays a vital role in what makes up their brand.
His letter continued to say;
"I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you."
Will Apple be able to continue without him, we hope so.
Everyone at Fit4Talent wishes Steve Jobs the very best.
