British Police are investigating new information linked to the gang who killed Stephen Lawrence in a racist attack in Eltham, South-East London 19 years ago in April 1993. This news comes after two of Stephen Lawrence's killers David Norris and Gary Dobson have started their prison sentences. It has always been known that the gang consisted of five or six young white men, and with just two convicted, it's now time to bring the remaining members to justice, Mr Justice Treacy has urged the police not to "close the file".
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said "We can confirm that we have received a number of telephone calls in light of the verdicts and today's sentencing. This information will be evaluated".
Detective Chief Inspector Clive Driscoll said that Police Officers will be visiting both David Norris and Gary Dobson to see if they will assist with the investigation, but he remains "optimistic".
David Norris now starts his 14 year 3 months minimum sentence and Gary Dobson his 15 year 2 months minimum sentence, although Dobson is currently serving a 5 year drug-dealing sentence as well.
We wish the Lawrence family and Police the best of luck with their investigations and hope they bring the remaining culprits to justice soon.
