Stars turn out to say Goodbye to Heavy D

Despite the freezing weather, fans lined the streets outside the Church

Stars from the world of Film, TV and Music joined Rapper Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Flavor Flav on Thursday night at the Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York for the Viewing and Wake Service of Rapper Heavy D, who died on the 8th November aged 44.

P.Diddy turned up to the service dressed entirely in black and with his arm in a sling, while Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav turned up in a white top hat, a green velvet coat and his signature "big clock" around his neck.

Despite the freezing weather, fans lined the streets outside the Church to pay their respects, and Heavy D is expected to be buried during a private ceremony on Friday.

Only a few hours before Heavy D died, he had Tweeted the message "BE INSPIRED!", only days before he had paid tribute to the boxer Joe Frazier, who died on Monday aged 67, he Tweeted "Truly one of the best heavyweight champs that ever lived.. GODS SPEED,MR FRAZIER!", Frazie death was caused by liver cancer, despite only being diagnosed with the illness in late September 2011.

Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, was born on the 24th May 1967 in Mandeville, Jamaica. He was the former leader of hip-hop group "Heavy D & the Boyz", in the mid 90's and was made President of "Uptown Records" and also rapped on Michael Jackson's track "Jam" and Janet Jackson's track "Alright", but for many, he will be remembered for his chart smashing hit single "Now That We Found Love".

Hundreds of stars have been Tweeting their messages of condolences regarding Heavy D's passing, they have included messages from the likes of Christina Milan, Tommy Davidson, Ludacris, Ice T, P.Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Shaq, La Toya Jackson and Brandy.

Ice T Tweeted
"I feel sick. Everyone should stop for a second, take a breath and realise how lucky you are to be alive, then appreciate every second with your luv ones"

P.Diddy Tweeted
"Heavy D is the person who gave me my first chance in the music industry"

Jennifer Lopez Tweeted

La Toya Jackson Tweeted

It's still unknown how Heavy D died, but reports say he had just returned home from shopping and encountered breathing problems as he walked up the stairs. Adam Mills, a designer who was in the building at the time said he found Heavy D leaning against a railing and he told Mills "I can't breathe, I can't breathe", he was then rushed to the Cedars-Sinai L.A medical centre and pronounced dead at around 1pm.

R.I.P - Heavy D - A genuinely nice humble honest man, the entire Fit4Talent team will miss Heavy D very much, we pass on our condolences to Heavy D's Family, Friends and Millions of Fans worldwide.
