Why are there so many repeats on the television. I don't just mean continuous repeats of old sitcoms like "The Good Life" and "Dad's Army" but films. I think Willy Wonker and his Chocolate Factory has been shown about 5 times since Christmas, I couldn't say how many times it was on last year (Old Willy must be sick of the stuff by now! I know I am). Perhaps Die Hard could die a little harder then it wouldn't have to come back to plague us again and again. Eddie Murphy films are also doing the rounds again, but don't worry if you miss them, they are bound to be screened again before Easter. There are hardly any new films on TV these days.Do you know what? I believe the channel bosses think that just because the weather is cold and the nights are dark, no one is going out and they are all huddled around their TV screens which means the channels don't have to try to hard and the programmers don't have to waste money, they don't need to buy anything new, they can just bring out the same old stuff they always do.
Just think how many films are made each year that never make it to our TVs. Where are they all hiding? If one of the channels was clever enough to buy some of them and put on a new film each week (it doesn't have to be a box office smash hit either), I think they would be on to a winner. What do you think?
