Miquita Oliver former T4 presenter is close to bankruptcy after she failed to pay more than £170,000 in tax. HM Revenue and Customs petitioned for Miquita to be declared bankrupt for unpaid taxes on the 11th of November last year according to Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery."Due to the fact this amount had not been collected by the due date set by HMRC a Bankruptcy Order was issued to Miss Oliver in respect to the mentioned amount on 11 November 2011."
27-year old Miquita is the daughter of Andrea Oliver former member of the 1980's post-punk band Rip Rig + Panic. She rose to fame co-presenting Channel 4's music show 'Popworld' with Simon Amstell. Miquita and Simon hosted the Saturday morning show for five years before they decided to part ways in 2006 when she went to work on the 4music channel. Last year Miss Oliver was a bridesmaid for Lily Allen, a childhood friend, at her wedding last year.
The Trustee appointed to Ms Oliver is Geoff Carton-Kelly has said that "At this stage it is too early to comment on the level of Miss Oliver's assets and the likely return to creditors." Ms Olivers publicist has said in her statement that they "can confirm that Miquita Oliver filed for bankruptcy in November 2011." going on to say that "She has many projects in the pipeline both here and in the US for 2012."
