The trainers are set to be actioned off on eBay, with the money raised going to the "The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research" which was setup by Michael J Fox who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, although it was not officially disclosed to the public until 1998.
Developed by Nike designer "Tinker Hatfield" and footwear innovator "Tiffany Beers", the Nike Air Mag trainers have already started attracting opening bids on eBay in excess of $5,000 and demand is expected to be very high.
Unlike in the film, the trainers don't come equipped with "power-laces", although they do feature electroluminescent outsoles, space-age materials and a rechargeable internal battery good for 3,000 hours.
