For those unaware of World of Warcraft, it's a highly popular multiplayer online role playing game available for both Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X, it was originally released in 1994 and in June 2011 Blizzard Entertainment revealed that they had over 11 million subscribers. The game currently hold the world record for the world's most subscribed multiplayer online role playing game.
For Blizzard Entertainment the World of Warcraft series is extremely lucrative and generates a billion dollars each year from the World of Warcraft revenues.
In 2004 the third expansion pack went on sale and within 24 hours of release it has been purchased more than 3 million times, it eventually went on to sell over 4.5 million copies, as a result it has become the fastest selling PC game ever.
