Morgan Freeman to receive Golden Globe Award

In 1990, Freeman won a Golden Globe for his role in "Driving Miss Daisy"

Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman is set to receive the "Cecil B DeMille" Award for "Lifetime Achievement" at next years Golden Globe Awards, which takes place on the 15th of January.

In 1990, Freeman won a Golden Globe for his role in the film "Driving Miss Daisy" and next year we'll see him receive an award for outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment.

Morgan Freeman who is 74 years old, was born in Memphis, Tennessee is most known for his roles in such films as Seven, Bruce Almighty, Driving Miss Daisy and The Shawshank Redemption

American actress and singer Amy Adams described Freeman as "one of the most recognisable figures in American cinema", she said "He has amazing screen presence, an unmatchable voice and quiet dignity, and has created some of the most memorable portrayals ever recorded on film", and we certainly agree with Amy.

Previous winners of the "Cecil B DeMille" award have included Steven Spielberg, Robert DeNiro and Warren Beatty.

Most recently Morgan Freeman has worked on family film "Dolphin Tale" and he's currently filming the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight Rises", in which he returns in his role as Lucius Fox.
