Marilyn Monroe Movie set to be released

Taking the lead role as Monroe is 31 year old actress Michelle Williams

A new British movie centring around the making of Marilyn Monroe's 1957 movie "The Prince and the Showgirl" is set for general release in the next few days.

The movie is based on the books "The Prince, The Showgirl and Me" and "My Week with Marilyn", which were written by British writer and filmmaker Colin Clark, the film focuses on the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around Britain by Clark, who also worked as assistant Director on the 1957 movie.

Taking the lead role as Monroe is 31 year old American actress Michelle Williams who is most known for her role as Jen Lindley in the popular American TV Show "Dawson's Creek", the movie also stars Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier, Judi Dench as Dame Sybil Thorndike and Emma Watson as Lucy.

Filmed at Saltwood Castle, White Waltham Airfield and various locations in and around London, British Born Simon Curtis has taken the role as Director, with David Parfitt and Harvey Weinstein taking the roles as Producers. Director Curtis said that the same studio used for the 1957 movie was also used this time.

Lead role Michelle Williams said "It's the hardest role I've ever done. Most days it was an act of courage to stay on set and not flee. I tied a belt round my knees to get the wiggle and spent hours watching movies and listening to her voice."

The original movie "The Prince and the Showgirl" was released on the 13th June 1957 and was produced at Pinewood Studios, it stared Marilyn Monroe as Elsie Marina and Laurence Olivier as Charles, Laurence Olivier was also responsible for Directing and Producing the movie.

Marilyn Monroe who died in 1962 aged 36 was an American Actress, Singer, Model and Showgirl, and makers of the movie hope that this new movie will help create a whole new generations of Monroe fans.
