Although reports are conflicted of his death it is certain that Gaddafi is now dead and Libya is free from him.
According to Abdullah Berrassali (a National Transitional Council spokesman) "He was shot in both legs and in the head". But an anti-Gaddafi fighter claimed the former "Libyan leader was shot in the stomach as he hid with his bodyguards."
Gaddafi was spotted by the NTC hidden in a drain with his body guards attempting to flee his home town of Sirte, a gunfight broke out wounding the former Leader.
Since his death the mood in Libya has dramatically changed with people standing in the street chanting "We did it! We did it!" with fighters in Sirte exchanging hugs and handshakes. Reporter Kitty Logan states that "This is the moment they have been waiting for, this is what their revolution was about and if the rumours are true this is closure for the Libyan people."
Colonel Gaddafis son Mutassim is also reported dead after having been killed along with his father but this has not been confirmed even though Libyan TV has shown pictures of what they claim is his body.
All that can be known for certain is that the future of Libya is unknown as they now find themselves free of an evil dictator but without any clear plan to fix the many problems and devastation that the war on Gaddafi has left behind.
