The beautiful DC100 has already received its Worldwide debut when it was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany on the 15th and 16th of September this year.
Land Rover are exploring the possiblility of the DC100 becoming the replacement for the "Land Rover Defender" in North America, the Defender is still in production and has been since 1983.
The DC100 does pack some serious punches though, with hardcore off road equipment such as;
"Terrain Response" optimises the car for any driving conditions
"Wade Aid" detects water depths using sonar sensors built into the door mirrors and bumpers and closes body vents, suggests driving speeds and adjusts the ride height accordingly.
"Terrain-i" creates a 3D map of what is going on in front of you, identifies potential hazards and provides alternatives routes to go.
John Edwards, Global Brand Director for Land Rover said "Our ambition is to create an all new Defender for a global market that remains absolutely faithfully to its original DNA: tough, versatile, durable and capable. At the same time, it will be developed for the 21st century and adaptable for the needs of future generations".
He explained "We are here in LA to showcase our DC100 and DC100 Sport concepts and start to actively explore the possibility of bringing the future Defender to North America".
Land Rover have not yet confirmed if the DC100 will go into production, but given the specifications so far, we're sure demand will be high.
