This isn't the first problem that Lady Gaga has faced online with the singer's official YouTube channel being blocked due to a copyright dispute this week.
It has since been restored but may have lead to Rihannas recent overtaking of her to become Facebooks most popular female star. Songs were also stolen from Lady Gaga and other artists by an 18-year old computer hacker who was given 18 months service in a German detention centre as punishment.
A number of Universal Musics sites have fallen victim to hackers but the firm have stated that "There were no passwords taken and no financial information taken". The hacker in these cases took a content database dump and a section of email aswell as users first and last names.
"Universal Music takes information protection very seriously and has put in place additional measures to protect personally identifiable information." and has advised all of those affected "of the intrusion into our sites. We also informed the Information Commissioner's Office, the police and our trade body, the BPI".
