The Sesame Street account was taken offline within 20 minutes of the issue happening. The childrens show made in America has over 140,000 subscribers with it's videos being viewed nearly half a billion times.
It is reported that someone who calls themselves 'Mredxwx' was responsible for the hacking although a member of the site who uses that name deny's any involvement with the matter. "I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest youtuber. I work hard to make quality gameplay videos and most important I respect the community guidelines."
Google, the owners of YouTube, have since said "YouTube's Community Guidelines prohibit graphic content. As always, we remove inappropriate material as soon as we are made aware of it."
In the past the public have almost supported the hacking of such corporate brands but with this attack being purposely aimed at children it will not sit well with those same people. Alongside the adult videos a message clearly meant for children to see stated: "Who doesn't like porn kids?".
This has happened before on the site when in May 2010 The Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana were also targeted. YouTube had to remove hundreds of videos containing pornographic material.
