Former Oasis members Noel and Liam Gallagher have both been nominated for awards at this years NME awards which happens on the 29th of February, Noel Gallagher is up for "Best Solo Artist" and his album "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" is up for "Best Album", Noel is also in the running for the "Greatest Music Moment", "Hero Of The Year" and has already been announced as the winner of the "Godlike Genius" award.But for brother Liam it's not such good news, not only has he been nominated for the "Villain of the Year" award, along with Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, David Cameron and Nick Clegg, but Liam's band Beady Eye have also been nominated for an award, the "Worst Band" award.
The Arctic Monkeys lead the way though, with nominations for "Best British Band", "Best Live Band", "Best Track", "Best Video", "Best Album Artwork" and "Most Dedicated Fans", and along with Noel Gallagher the Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is nominated for the "Hero Of The Year" award.
Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders said "We're up for all the big ones - we're very happy. We had a lot of fun making 'Suck It And See' and it's great to be up for Best Live Band".
