Ferrari say they will never produce an electric car

This announcement will most certainly anger environmental groups

The Chairman of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo has announced that his company will never produce an entirely reliant electric car.

Montezemolo said "I do not feel they represent an important step forward for pollution, CO2 and the environment", he continued to say "We are working very hard on the hybrid Ferrari car" and he believes hybrid cars should be the future. He went on to say that Ferrari were ready to embrace any technology that will make their cars more efficient.

This announcement will most certainly anger environmental groups who believe all car manufacturers should be producing environmentally friendly electric engines.

Last year at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, Ferrari showed off their Ferrari 599, a 200mph electric hybrid concept car.

Electric cars are suffering a slow growth, but with manufacturers such as BMW, Volvo & Nissan already geared up to produce an eclectic engine, did environmental groups actually believe Supercar Producer Ferrari would create an electric motor - we think not!
