The redesign will be centred around user profiles and the changes will be revealed at the f8 developer conference this week.
Facebook plans to launch a music and media platform and a source said the redesigned profiles will be more "sticky" to keep users on the site for longer time periods.
So what does this mean? Does it mean the easy access Facebook won't be so easy after the changes are made? The term 'Sticky' doesn't sound too appealing.
"The redesigned profiles are part of a larger push into social e-commerce. We don't exactly know what that means," said Mashable' Ben Parr. "We've also heard that a Facebook app store may emerge at f8."
Facebook are due to announce and reveal what changes are going to be made on Thursday 22nd September in a press conference.
Sit tight. Await news. Facebook is changing - for the better? Who knows.
