The story was confirmed today by Ryan Seacrest, friend of the Kardashian, after rumours began to surface early this morning. Posting on Twitter Seacrest stated "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins."
Citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the divorce Kim in a statement to E! asks "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best." E! the network who air Kim's reality programmes have not yet revealed how they will address this divorce on any of the Kardashian shows.
E! released the following statement "All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news, and we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time. The Kardashians have always been uniquely open with all aspects of their lives from joyous events to intimate moments to heartbreaking transitions. E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family."
After a $20 million fairytale ceremony held in Montecito, California this August 20th which was aired to over 4 million viewers in E!'s special "Kim's Fairytale Wedding", Kim confessed that married life was "not ideal" and that it was she who decided to file for divorce. This may be the best decision for Kim but Kris says "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce". Maybe lack of communication is the reason behind this latest failed celebrity marriage?
