DirectTV's Celebrity Beach Bowl VI

Today's Hottest Celebrities Faced-Off Against NFL Greats

Known to race car fans as home of the world's largest spectator sporting event, Indianapolis will gain yet another distinction when Victory Field is converted into the world's largest indoor beach on Super Bowl Weekend. A-list celebrities, NFL athletes and thousands of spectators will converge on over one million pounds of freshly poured sand to take part in DIRECTV's Sixth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl, presented by SPIKE TV, on Saturday, Feb. 4. The game and performance will air live on over 25 networks including DIRECTV's Audience Network, DIRECTV's n3D and all of DIRECTV's and Fox Sports Network's Regional Sports Networks.

The DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, which is free and open to the public, has become one of the must-attend events of Super Bowl weekend, with Hollywood's brightest stars competing against NFL greats in a no-holds-barred flag football game in front of thousands of fervent fans. The action will take place in a specially constructed 5,000-concert-capacity stadium, complete with a sand-filled football field and concert stage. Immediately following the game and trophy presentation, the crowd will fill the beach for a concert presented by Palladia HD featuring GRAMMY Award-nominated band, The Fray, performing songs from their upcoming album Scars and Stories.

This year's DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl is poised to be the largest ever, with up to 15,000 people at Victory Field divided between the 5,000 fans inside the massive tented structure during the concert and 10,000 more enjoying the event on large video screens throughout the stadium Concourse. Admission is free, but access to the tent is on a first-come basis. The Concourse will be open for fans before and during the Beach Bowl and will offer tailgate food and drinks for sale and a sponsor activation zone with free games and competitions. Fans who are not among the first to get into the stadium will have chances to win entry during the tailgate and for the concert.

Gates open at 10 a.m., with the tent opening at 11:15 a.m. The pre-game show hosted by Dan Patrick and Kevin Frazier, presented by SHOWTIME begins at 1 p.m. followed by the game at 2 p.m. when celebrities and athletes take the field. The DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl will be played over two, 20-minute halves and the action will be called by Patrick and sideline reporter Tony Siragusa.

Later that night, the space will be transformed into an upscale nightclub for the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night hosted by Mark Cuban's HDNet and Peyton Manning featuring a musical performance by Katy Perry. The exclusive, invite only event will begin at 10 p.m. EST.

Adding to the excitement of Super Bowl Week, The Dan Patrick Show will be taking the Man Cave on the road and broadcasting live from Victory Field in its specially designed mobile studio. Patrick and the Dan-ettes will welcome a who's who of athletes, celebrities, Hall of Famers and more throughout the course of the week leading up to the Big Game. Nick DiPaulo and Artie Lange will also get in on the action when they broadcast The Nick and Artie Show live from Scotty's Brew House in Indy, applying their manic perspective of the world of sports and entertainment to all of the week's happenings.
