Chris de Burgh, celebrated international singer and performer, has just announced his world tour for 2013. The series of shows will include a stop off in Birmingham city centre at the NIA, where he will perform some of his best known classics, as well as new material, to his fans. The singer, most famous for hit song "The Lady in Red", worked on a cover project "Footsteps" in 2009, a collection of songs that he felt had been huge personal inspirations throughout his career. However, there were a number of other songs that Chris felt had had a "big impact" on him that he wanted to share; this lead to follow-up album, "Footsteps 2" which forms the basis of the new tour. The album includes a number of songs that are close to Chris' heart including "The Living Years" by Mike & the Mechanics.
Chris de Burgh comments: "Music is the soundtrack to our own lives. These songs, at particular times in my life, were cornerstones. They were the footsteps, like stepping stones across the river that helped me on my way. I'm very much looking forward to going on tour in 2013 with "Footsteps 2". We'll be performing quite a few songs from it, which I'm really excited about doing."
