Based on the 2003 book by Michael Lewis, Brad Pitt plays Oakland Athletics General Manager Billy Beane. With Oakland Athletics facing a limited budget, Beane teams up with fresh young Yale Economics Graduate Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) and attempts to assemble a championship Oakland Athletics baseball team by selecting players based on a Theory by Brand.
Bratt Pitt also takes the role as Producer for this movie, along with Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Rush Hour 2) and Rachael Horovitz (About Schmidt, Little Black Book). The screenplay has been written by Steven Zaillian (Schindler's List, Gangs of New York)and Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The Social Network).
The movie has already received critical acclaim and has received a high level of positive feedback from movie goers. The movie website Rotten Tomatoes reported that around 164 our of 173 reviews for the movie were positive, giving it an outstanding score of 95%.
