Black Friday brings chaos to retailers

An angry women in a LA "Walmark" was pepper sprayed by a rival shopper

The American Christmas shopping season officially kicked off on Friday as "Black Friday" was once again upon us.

The yearly event, which takes place on the day following Thanksgiving day, saw floods of crowds packing into shops to grab those "Black Friday" deals, deals which are not normally seen during the year. Not everyone is happy about "Black Friday", with Protesters encouraging people to join the "Buy Nothing Day" protest.

Competition by shoppers for the best deals turned nasty as it was reported that an angry women in a Los Angeles "Walmark" shop was pepper sprayed by a rival shopper after she tried to cut in line, leaving 15 other people with minor injuries.

Over the Christmas shopping season shopper are expected to spend around $500 billion, which is an increase of 3% compared to last year.
