Although this will be Cole's first acting role in a movie, back in 2008 he worked as a producer on the British Gangster movie "Dead Man Running", which featured Danny Dyer and American Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
The movie plot will be based on an underhanded football agent who's living a Premier League lifestyle, Dyer has been named as the actor playing the football agent.
Cameo roles in the movie are expected to come from a whole host of football players and managers, including 30 year old Lillie player Joe Cole and 57 year old West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce.
Cole's Wife "Cheryl Cole" is said to be helping towards the financing of the movie and is set to star several actors from the TV show Hollyoaks.
The question remains, will Cole be following in the footsteps of ex-footballers such as hard-man Vinnie Jones and taking acting up as a long term career.
