"3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" is "The World's First 3-D Erotic Film" and it's an adaptation of the classic 1657 novel "The Carnal Prayer Mat" by Chinese playwright, novelist and publisher Li Yu, the movie stars Hayama Go (Break Up Club, The Jade and the Pearl) as Wei Yangsheng, Leni Lan Yan (Lala Pipo: A Lot of People, The Citizen Police 69) as Tie Yuxiang and Saori Hara (Everlasting Regret, Home Run) as Ruizhu.
The plot follows Wei Yangsheng, a young Ming Dynasty scholar who embarks on an eye-opening journey of sexual discovery where he encounters Tie Fei the Taoist priest's daughter, Tie Yuxiang.
In Hong Kong the movie beat the opening days grosses of "Avatar" and "Titanic" with an opening day gross of $351,000, and to date the movie has grossed almost $6.5 Million, not bad for a movie which had a budget of just $3.5 Million.
The movie is Directed by Christopher Sun Lap Key and is produced by Stephen Shiu and Stephen Shiu Jr, who also co-wrote the screenplay along with Mark Wu.
