Today we welcome into the interview room, top talent Joe Blakeman from 8 Bit Monster.

Frist please tell me you rolls in 8 Bit Monster?
I Share lead guitar with mat and I do most of the backing vocals, Mat, sharing lead guitar and lead vocalist, Joey Drummer, Jake bass guitar and recently some backup vocals.

So how did 8 Bit Monster begin?
We heard of a local talent competition, we were all into our music and decided to form a band for the show, We played the show then continued playing together, we then had some problems with some band members and they were replaced, we went on to do some gigging around Birmingham, we recently had to replace our drummer and now we finally have a solid band.

What do you think makes you stand out from other bands?
Our music style's, are different, although we still fall into the metal/etc. Category we really know how to get the crowd going, we are stage friendly? And we just love what we do

What/who Influences you?
The idea of playing in front of thousands of fans, getting platinum records, all that stuff band's like Metallica, Pantera, AA etc, we sound nothing like them (apart from AAish) but mainly because there just amazing.

What do you think the Future holds for 8 Bit Monster?
Listen, i'm not going to say we're going to be huge, best band ever selling millions of records and what not, because I don't know what's going to happen in the future with us, we just want to be the best we can be and please everyone that loves our vibe and that just love's to rock.

Where would you like to be in three years with 8 Bit Monster?
Maybe being a support band for some kind of small/big band, maybe even doing a UK tour ourselves, either newly signed or on the verge of getting signed, but that's me speaking realistically.

Where I would like to be 3 years is being the biggest band EVER selling billions of records and touring the world.

Are you currently making a EP?
We did start to make a EP but we started writing new better material so we stopped that EP and we will be starting a new one in February.

Do you have any up and coming gigs?
Only the one i'm afraid, this month on the 26th at the O2 Academy 3, after this gig we will be booking many more.
